What is GWIZA?
It is a savings account with the following features:
Minimum account opening deposit: 100,000Frw
Monthly deposits of minimum 25,000Frw
Maturity is 6 months renewable
No withdrawals are allowed from the account except with a notice period of 91 days. Any withdrawal leads to loss of interests and the account starts from zero.
Earns interests—the higher the accumulated savings, the higher the interest rate;
Interests are calculated on a daily basis and capitalized after six months.
What are the benefits of GWIZA savings account?
Interest earnings of up to 7% per annum depending on amount saved.

100 000 to 1 000 000 Rwf - 5.5%
More than 1 000 000 Rwf - 5.75%
More than 5 000 000 Rwf - 6%
More than 10 000 000 Rwf - 6.25%
More than 20 000 000 Rwf - 6.5%
More than 30 000 000 Rwf - 6.75%
More than 40 000 000 Rwf - 7%
This account gives you preferential eligibility for a personal loan
To keep track of the monthly savings, the client can have the deposits registered in the current account booklet, but seperate from current account transactions or can always request an account statement at the bank.
How to open GWIZA savings account
An existing client of BPR only needs to fill a GWIZA account opening form
A new client of BPR first opens a current account, then fills the GWIZA account opening form.
Closing the account
Maturity of the account is 6 months renewable. Client has to write to the bank 15 days before maturity asking it to close the account and thereby deposit the accumulated savings plus interests to the client’s current account.
If the client does not write to the bank, the account is automatically renewed at maturity for more 6 months.
